Repairing Brick Infill Panels to Oak Frame Listed Building in Cheshire

On this project the client asked us to repair - rebuild the Brick Infill Panels on the Listed Oak Frame Building in Cheshire.

Our team of Restoration Builders used a Hydraulic based Lime Mortar for the Lime Pointing & Re-building the Brick Infill panels.

We used the original hand made bricks take from the panels to re-build.

This Listed Building in Cheshire dates back to the 16c. It has now been Restored & Converted into a 2 Bedroom Cottage. The Listed Oak Frame Barn was used for Threshing Wheat. The Oak Frame of the Listed Building under went repairs where necessary.

On this photo you can see the Repairs to the Oak Frame of the Building.

This Listed Building had a internal Scaffold erected to prevent the building collapsing, this scaffold had been up for around 10 years.

 

This is one of the restore Brick Infill, we used a Hydraulic Lime mixed with a local sand to produce the Lime Mortar. We also replaced the timber expansion joints with new.

These Brick Infill Panel on the Listed Building had to be replace like for like, all the Handmade Bricks from each panel were kept together to be replaced in the same panel.

One of our Specialist Brickwork Builders starting laying the Handmade Bricks on this Listed Building. Our Building Contractors working on this project in Cheshire worked away all week, lodging in a Estate bungalow.
