UK Restoration Services provides specialist traditional lime works for listed buildings, historic properties, churches, scheduled monuments, civic buildings, conservation areas and period homes. We work with architects, surveyors, conservation officers, heritage consultants, public bodies and private clients to deliver conservation-led repairs using appropriate lime-based materials and traditional methods.
Our services include lime plastering, lime rendering, lime harling, lime pointing, limewashing, lime grouting, mortar repairs and associated masonry conservation. These works can be delivered as a standalone package or as part of a wider heritage restoration project.
Internally, we carry out lime plaster repairs, patch repairs, full re-plastering and breathable wall finishes. Where possible, existing historic plaster is retained and repaired. Where replacement is required, we use compatible materials and finishes suited to the age, construction and character of the building.
Externally, we provide lime rendering, traditional lime harling, roughcast and wet dash finishes, and limewashing. Our team can remove failed or inappropriate cementitious materials, prepare masonry backgrounds, complete localised repairs, apply new lime finishes and provide curing protection throughout the works.
We also undertake careful lime repointing and mortar repairs to stone, brick and mixed masonry. This includes raking out defective joints, removing hard cement pointing, mortar matching, aggregate selection and finishing joints in keeping with the building’s character.
Our lime grouting service supports the consolidation of historic masonry where voids, cracks or weakened cores are present. This can help stabilise traditional walls, towers, ruins, retaining walls and monuments while retaining compatibility with the existing fabric.
As an experienced heritage restoration contractor and principal contractor, UK Restoration Services can manage access, protection, health and safety, sequencing, sample panels, quality inspections and coordination with other trades from planning through to completion.
