We are pleased to announce that our team has been awarded a new contract to complete restoration work at Hall ‘i ‘th Wood Manor.

Hall i’ th’ Wood Manor is a 16th century house located in Bolton. Timber repairs have recently been carried out on the grade 1 listed building. Our team has now been contracted to repair the infill panels on the gable apex of the building. Our team will be working directly with a structural engineer to ensure the repairs are completed to the correct standard.

The work is set to commence in the middle of May and is expected to take 2 weeks to complete.

The original building is timber framed and has a stone flagged roof. There were later additions to the house, built from stone, in 1591 and 1648. The name represents “Hall in the Wood’ spoken in the local regional English dialect and is pronounced “Hall ‘i ‘th Wood”. The building is currently used as a museum by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council.

An episode of the television programme Most Haunted was filmed in the hall in 2008.
